Ali Good entered ed tech product marketing like a lot of others, via the classroom. Turns out teaching writing provides a great training ground.
“Both writers and product marketers,” Ali explained, “need to understand their audience’s values, biases, dreams, and ambitions. “Plus, really good writers know what’s already been said on the subject (read: competition and market landscape) and how their ideas fit in (positioning).”
Ali started with a giant (Pearson), moved to a large K12 company (Renaissance), and now, is at a startup (Quizizz). Every step, she’s learned more about every aspect of product marketing.
